Personal Journaling

Write Your Thoughts

Why Personal Journaling?

People have been journaling for a long time and for many different reasons. In the economic climate that we are in; it’s probably a good idea to journal your thoughts. Even if you are not affected by what’s going on in the world right now you can still journal.

If you have no idea about what you would write about, here are a few thoughts.

  1. If you are in a creative area, you might want to use a journal to brain storm. The best thing is there will be no one to shoot your ideas down.
  2. You can journal about your goals and how you are going to achieve them. The best thing is you can analyze your progress to see if you are on track.
  3. If you are going through a crisis such as a death, job loss, divorce, etc, writing about it is going to assist you. The best thing is you have your own little therapist and you don’t have to shell out $200.00 an hour.
  4. If you are on a spiritual path, journaling is a good tool to direct your thoughts. The best thing is the only judge of your journey is you.
  5. If you are planning to change the way you eat or simply keep track of what you eat, you can keep a food journal. What’s the best thing about this? You will see exactly what you are eating.

This is by no means an exhaustive list of all the things that you can journal about. If you are still wondering why you should write in a journal here are some things to think about.

  • A journal can be therapeutic as was mentioned above.
  • Writing things down can help you to keep track of them.
  • It can make things clearer and help you to discover  things about yourself that might be in your subconscious.
  • It can help you to gain and build on ideas.

In the end you may journal about whatever you want. It’s your thoughts after-all.

Are you journaling? If you are, what are you writing about?

Remember there is nothing like words in black and white to help you see where you are and where you are going.
